Seasons Centre for Grieving Children is a charitable organization serving Simcoe County and beyond. Since December 1995 Seasons Centre has been providing peer to peer support groups for our community’s children/teens and their families grieving the death, or life-threatening illness of an immediate family member. Participants are supported through the grief process by professional program staff and trained volunteer grief facilitators in a safe, non-judgmental, home like atmosphere.
One of the goals of our peer support groups is to provide participants with the essential skills to promote grieving in healthy ways; thus, building resiliency in our children. Our programs are unique and are designed to provide children with the opportunity to express their feelings in socially acceptable ways. During the group sessions various grief emotions and coping strategies are discussed in child friendly ways. Many of our participants have expressed that Seasons Centre is the only place where they have felt comfortable, understood, and not alone in their grief journey.
Seasons Centre relies solely on the support and generosity of our community. There are no fees for our programs. Children can attend programs regardless of their family’s financial situation.

The Furry Friends Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to providing shelter and love to abandoned, lost or rescued animals in the Barrie community. We provide care to 500+ cats and kittens each year. We do not euthanize healthy animals for any reason.
We are a registered charity (#882610124), funded by generous donors and supporters and operated completely by dedicated volunteers.
Furry Friends has been rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming cats for over 20 years.
Rescue: We take in surrenders, strays and hoarded cats, and work with other local animal rescue organizaitons and people in the community to trap/rescue cats in need. Because we’re entirely donation supported a surrender fee will be requested to cover costs we’ll incur. The amount depends on the number & condition of the cat(s).
Rehabilitation: At the shelter and in foster homes we provide proper nutrition, essential vaccines, microchips and ensure that all cats and kittens are spayed/neutered. When necessary, we arrange emergency surgeries and medical treatments. We are dedicated to socializing and building trust with fearful cats, and offer lots of TLC, no matter what.
Rehoming: As soon as our furry friends are adoption-ready, we work with adoption partners (PetSmart and Pet Valu) - and our shelter and foster volunteers - to match them with loving families in our community. We also work hard to reunite lost cats with their pet parents.

Who we are
Established in 1998, Canadian Blood Services is an independent, not-for-profit charitable organization primarily funded by the governments of all provinces and territories except Quebec. Regulated as a biologics manufacturer by Health Canada, we are responsible for ensuring that patients across the country have safe, reliable access to the high-quality blood, plasma, stem cells, and organs and tissues they need.
Our role as the national blood authority was established in a memorandum of understanding between the federal, provincial and territorial governments following the Royal Commission of Inquiry by Justice Horace Krever into Canada’s blood contamination crisis. The principles articulated in Justice Krever’s final report continue to guide our policy development and decision-making.
Canadian Blood Services provides blood and blood products for transfusion, manages a formulary of plasma protein and related products used in a wide array of medical conditions, and also manages stem cell registry services and cord blood banking, on behalf of all provincial and territorial governments except Quebec. Our national transplant registry for interprovincial organ sharing and related programs extends to all provinces and territories.
We collaborate with patient groups, care providers, health system leaders, communities of donors, other blood service organizations and governments to continuously improve the effectiveness of Canada’s health systems and achieve the best possible patient outcomes. Working with this diverse community of stakeholders, we contribute to the advancement and excellence of both national and international networks focused on transfusion and transplantation.
