What’s the plan?
We’ll be meeting at Roberta Place Retirement Lodge where you’ll be given a list of Retirement Residences in the Barrie city limits to visit. Bring your best navigators, passengers or a GPS!
Each Residence will be holding their own theme and handing out 1 playing card to each participant that passes through. Stop and say hi or carry on to the next location. The more residences visited the more cards you’ll have to make your best 5 card poker hand.
When you’re done your tour and making great memories for the residents and of course yourself you’ll head back to Roberta Place where we’ll see the best poker hands.
We have a former casino dealer judging hands!
Ties will be broken with a mean game of rock scissors paper! Bring your A game!
Plaques for top three spots!
After which we’ll hangout, listen to some music and some stories and may even fire up a BBQ.

Why a poker run?
The idea for a poker run was born out of the many requests from various retirement and independent living residences to do car shows at their locations. We simply couldn’t make it to every location throughout the cruising season. This as you’d imagine was a disappointment for those residences that were left out. So a novel idea was to bring the show to every location that wanted to participate all at once. As you can image this was a popular idea with the cruising community and with the locations. It will provide ample fun for the driver, navigator and passengers not to mention the residents at the participating locations. Each location would run their own theme for the window that the classics would arrive. The Club would take a hands off approach and leave it up to the staff and residents to determine their themes. So a surprise at every location awaits. We hope you join us for an amazing day of smiles, excitement and cruising through Barrie while you hunt down the locations.
Check back often as we firm up hours and further details.
Please share and spread the word and help make this a successful event for the residents!

Plaques for the top 3 spots
Theses plaques were anonymously donated by a couple that absolutely loved the idea of a
poker run to the retirement homes here in Barrie.
They wanted to contribute to the event as they couldn’t make it Saturday. This is how they did it. We deeply appreciate the generosity!
They don’t want recognition - they said to say the plaques are from
